Negative emotions that accelerate aging

How we look and feel at a given age is largely determined by genetics. But it also happens that the biological age is ahead of the passport one — the body can begin to age earlier. Why is this happening? And how can this be prevented?

No matter how you take care of your skin and keep your body in good shape, if you accumulate negative emotions in yourself, you will age faster. The emotions that we experience are connected not only with health and the occurrence of diseases, but also with the aging process. The more you let negativity into your life, the more you accumulate in yourself unspoken experiences, resentment, stress, aggression, the faster old age will come.

LEARN MORE! Did you know that the microflora directly affects our emotions? You can experience all these feelings due to the lack of beneficial bacteria! Read more in our special project. Bacteria for happiness and health.

This can affect both well-being and appearance. And at first you can look normal, changes can only affect health. But if under the influence of stress and experiences you feel much older than you really are, your health has worsened, then changes in appearance are just around the corner.

So, what emotions steal youth from us and accelerate aging?

1. Stress

Doctors say that with negative emotions, stress in the body, the content of the hormone cortisol increases, it is also called the “stress hormone”. An increase in cortisol levels in response to a stressful situation mobilizes the body’s forces, as a result, the level of amino acids, glucose, and adrenaline in the blood increases.

But only short-term stress can mobilize the body and even rejuvenate it, but long-term stress, on the contrary, starts the aging process. If the content of cortisol is constantly elevated, then the body wears out quickly: there is a risk of cardiovascular diseases, muscle destruction, fat deposition, the process of tissue regeneration slows down, stretch marks appear on the body, wrinkles on the face, acne, etc.

2. Suppressed aggression, unspoken resentment

It is important to remember that the more emotions are suppressed, the more they are driven inside, the more problems they bring to health. You need to let go of resentment and not accumulate in yourself. They disrupt the work of the heart, blood vessels, respiratory organs, lead to clamps in the muscles. In addition, suppressed aggression and resentment accumulate in the body in the form of toxins, stones, high cholesterol, which negatively affects the general condition and accelerates aging.

3. Longing, despondency, dissatisfaction with life

These emotions disrupt the work of the heart, affect the condition of the joints. If you live with longing in your heart, suffer from loneliness, all metabolic processes in the body slow down, and after that, health failures and changes in appearance gradually occur. And until you get rid of this oppression, the body will exist in such a process.

4. Guilt

This negative emotion turns into diabetes, depression, excess weight, and leads to chronic diseases. And all this inevitably leads to premature aging.

The connection of emotions with aging is explained very simply. One of the main causes of aging is the cessation of cell renewal and division. And if you are constantly depressed, nothing in life makes you happy, you have accumulated a lot of bad feelings and emotions, you give a signal to the body that everything is too hard, life is unbearable, you can’t do this anymore. As a result, the body slows down the renewal processes and starts the aging program, as it considers such conditions unfavorable for its life.

A bleak picture, isn’t it? To prevent premature aging, be aware of what emotions can cause this process and work them out: learn to let go of resentment, do not accumulate stress, do not indulge in despondency, get rid of guilt. If you understand that it is these negative emotions that prevent you from living, it becomes much easier to get rid of them.
