How to use clay for beauty and health

Clay reju­ve­nates and cleans­es the skin, helps to lose weight and even improves health. But for this you need to use it cor­rect­ly. We’ll tell you how.

Clay is a strong nat­ur­al adsor­bent and anti­sep­tic. If you put a spoon­ful of any clay in a liter of milk, then even in the heat it will not turn sour for sev­er­al days. In addi­tion, it con­tains valu­able trace ele­ments in a bal­anced form. Clay of dif­fer­ent col­ors can be used for cos­met­ic and med­i­c­i­nal pur­pos­es: blue, white, red. Envi­ron­men­tal­ly friend­ly clay is sold in phar­ma­cies. In no case do not col­lect clay your­self, espe­cial­ly in the city. It may con­tain var­i­ous harm­ful impu­ri­ties. Such clay will only harm health. There are few con­traindi­ca­tions to clay treat­ment, but they exist: in par­tic­u­lar, high fever, exac­er­ba­tions of inflam­ma­to­ry process­es, etc. So do not for­get to con­sult a doc­tor.

When cough­ing dilute 100 g of clay in 1/2 cup of water. Make clay cakes 1–2 cm thick and wrap gauze on the parts of the chest where you feel par­tic­u­lar pain when you cough. Warm up the appli­ca­tion. Keep no more than 3 hours, then change the clay. Do appli­ca­tions 3 days in a row dur­ing peri­ods of par­tic­u­lar­ly strong cough­ing fits.
For joint pain buy dried plan­tain leaves at the phar­ma­cy (or col­lect fresh ones), pre­pare an infu­sion from them (1 table­spoon per glass of boil­ing water). Dilute them with clay to the con­sis­ten­cy of sour cream and rub sore joints. Repeat 2 times a day for a week.

For food poi­son­ing clay can also be used. Take 1 table. a spoon­ful of white clay, dilute in a glass of boiled water and drink. Clay acts like the well-known acti­vat­ed car­bon — it absorbs harm­ful sub­stances and removes them from the body. Just keep in mind: for oral use, clay labeled “med­ical”, that is, spe­cial­ly puri­fied, pre­pared and clin­i­cal­ly test­ed. Don’t hurt your­self!

To cleanse the pores and reju­ve­nate the skin, dilute the clay with warm water to the con­sis­ten­cy of sour cream. Instead of water, you can take cucum­ber juice, aloe or chamomile decoc­tion. Hold the mask for 15–20 min­utes and wash off. When prepar­ing a mask, do not use met­al uten­sils, as some min­er­als can react with met­als and break down. The con­tain­er can be glass, ceram­ic, wood or enam­eled.

Clay rinses and baths

If your throat hurts dilute 1 tsp. a spoon­ful of any clay in a glass of warm water and gar­gle with this solu­tion throat 5 times a day. You can also drink sev­er­al sips of clay water every hour. Thanks to its strong adsor­bent and anti-inflam­ma­to­ry prop­er­ties, clay will remove tox­ins from the body and help relieve inflam­ma­tion.
For skin inflam­ma­tion clay baths are good. 5–7 table. spoons of white or blue clay, dilute in water, pour into a bath of water. You can also add 2–3 drops of your favorite essen­tial oil. Bath tem­per­a­ture — 38–40°C, dura­tion — 10–15 min­utes. Such a bath relieves ten­sion and fatigue, tones, elim­i­nates skin flak­ing and accel­er­ates cell renew­al.

Clay for headaches

Clay can also be used to elim­i­nate headaches: dis­solve the clay in warm water to a homo­ge­neous con­sis­ten­cy, fold it into gauze and apply it to the tem­ples. Hold the com­press for up to 25 min­utes. Do a clay com­press at night for a month. Clay and mint wrap helps with headaches: for this, dis­solve the clay in 100 ml of water, add pep­per­mint. Wrap your head with a nap­kin with clay and mint for 20 min­utes. Do a com­press for a week.
